Fitness and money. When you think about this combination you normally think about the elite right? The pro athletes getting paid millions.

Well today we are going to present to you with something you may have never thought about but it’s almost the ultimate solution to fitness and weight loss. Imagine you had a friend or maybe this could work for you. And that person want to drop weight but hated going to the gym. Have you ever through about swapping jobs into something more physically intensive?

Think about it for a moment. What is it that you do at the gym? You pretty much go to the gym specifically to do something intense for a set period of time right? And when is the last time you saw a physically unfit carpet cleaning professional. Or an unfit removalist. Or how about an unfit bike courier? You don’t see that as the are always fit!

So lets explore a few of these options. And don’t take our word for it. Take the word of the business owners we have been in touch with who have seen transformations take place with their staff.

A Moving Company Job for Fitness?

Lets start with removal work. Lucas of We Move and Clean is based out of Swindon in the UK. This part of the UK is well known for comfort food. After we spoke to him he basically told us that he has someone in the office ask him if they could get on the road and start helping with house removals around Swindon. Their reason was simple. They wanted to get fit. And they figured why not get active all day long with moving peoples homes. That way there is no gym and the dramatic shock to the body from office worker to being on your feet every day will surly working shocking the body to drop the weight.

Well you know what, it worked! Lucas told us that over the next six months his staff member lost about a third of their body weight and looks fantastic. The change that took place is summed up with getting on your feet and moving furniture all day as a job. And getting out all the bad stuff over time so the diet is cleaned up.

As simple as that!

Bike Courier – Pedal for Fitness!

This is our own addition and a fairly obvious one.

Imagine for a moment you are in the office or day or any kind of indoor work. And all of a sudden your peddling your bike for 6 hours a day. Do you think you will get fit? Do you think there is the slightest chance at all they you will no start to shirk?

It’s not possible to stay at the same weight! Unless you biked all day and went home to drink six beers and ate burgers all day. But that wouldn’t work as you’d fell to bloated and wouldn’t be able to to you bike courier job at all!

Carpet Cleaning for Fitness

The last one is carpet cleaning. Have you ever had your carpet professionally cleaned? Have you seen the heavy equipment that has to be dragged around a house or a business? Have you seen how much pushing and pulling takes place to get the job done right? It’s not an intensive job like a building dealing with brick laying but it’s intense enough for a transformation to take place.

Just ask Paul of Clean Victoria. He has been running a successful Newcastle carpet cleaning service for the better part of a few years. When he started his business he told us that he was not in the best shape and over the next few months things changed dramatically. He told us that he never had a bad diet and was not that big in the first place but what he did do was eat to much comfort food on the weekend and drank a lot. Fighting off Varicose Veins!

Varicose veins are something generally happens later in life for women. But don’t be fooled it’s quite possible even men to get them even when the are in theirs twenties.

So you have varicose veins? What are you going to do about it. Here are four tips that will help you fight them!

  1. Compression Stockings – Compression stocking can be used of fight off varicose veins in your legs. The theory behind it is quite simple that the ‘compression’ of the stocks or stocking promotes blood flow in your legs and varicose veins is based on the fact that your body is not circulating blood properly. So getting some compression socks can be a starting point that is very cheap before moving into other methods.
  2. Get Active! – Remember what we mentioned above about poor blood circulation. Well what does exercise do? If promotes better blood flow and circulation in your body right. The better your blood flows the faster you will start to reduce your varicose veins. Now we are not at all saying become a gym junkie who lives and breathes weight training. But rather just become active. Go for a walk after work or if you live close to the beach go for a swim.Just get ‘naturally’ active.
  3. Avoid Long Periods Sitting or Standing – Once again this come down to circulation. If you stand all day in a job like working on the checkout you’re not doing yourself any favors to fix your varicose veins. Or if you sit all day working in an office then set a timer that reminds you to get up and stretch or just walk up and down the office hallway for at least 90 seconds. This will get you blood flowing once again and it’s also proven that moving naturally like this will wake you up much more effectively that drinking another cup of coffee.

How to Keep Your Dog Fit!

My everything! Puggy!

Dog Fitness? It’s an ongoing issue for a lot of people especially if you have more of a house based dog or live in an apartment.

In this short article I’m going to give you a few tips on keeping your dog fit. First off let me introduce you to puggy! Why the name puggy? As he is a pug and he’s the puggest look pug to walk the earth! I love the little guy to death! That’s my little guy to the left.

So lets jump right into it shall we. Here are my top five tips on keep your house dog fit.

  1. A schedule
    It’s quite simple really. Have you notices that successful people generally have personal assistants and a schedule? Well to keep yourself on track you can combine your own fitness with a schedule and take you do with you.

    Live in a concrete jungle? Go for a morning run with your dog before you head to work. Is it training out side? Get active with your dog doing laps around your apartment or house. It’s not that hard to stick to getting some fitness in the same time everyday that involved your dog.

  2. Feed the same amount of food daily
    Have you noticed that when it’s a free for all you gain weight? Well the same goes for you dog if you always give in and give them extra treats and snacks.

    It’s best to to know what you are going to feed your dog and when. This way you won’t over feed. Also following on from point number one you can have a schedule with your dog treats. Say every Tuesday and Friday you pooch gets a treat.

    Another option is to buy an automatic dog feeder. This way you just fill the feeder to the top and the timer releases the right amount of food every few hours.

  3. Dog Parks!
    Dog parks are a great idea! Not only will you get to be social with other dog owners your dog is going to absolutely love it. They will get to play with the other dogs. For a dog this is not just exercise but it’s also mentally good for them to be around other dogs and be in their natural state.

    It also reduces stress for the dog and gives you dog meaningful interaction. Sun, rain or shine the do park is always a great way to go about keeping your dog fit.

  4. Dog Treadmills.
    If you are really not able to get your dog out to play then a great alternative is to invest in a dog treadmill. Cheap ones start at the few hundred dollar range and go all the way up to the expensive boutique version that’s can cost $2,000.

    The great part about dog treadmills is that the are very easy to store. Most actually fold up and can be stored in the cupboard or under the bed. Then when you need to pull them out they snap back together and at a moments nice you have you dog on the treadmill getting his fitness in for the day.

    A dog treadmill is great of most dog owners. As lets face it, life gets in the way. What about winter and not going out side as it’s to cold or stormy? This way you don’t have to worry about not keeping your dog fit.

  5. Dog Toys
    There are a variety of dog toys that can keep you pooch entertained.

    A dog that has a few toys can easily get rid of a lot of energy just by playing with a toy. You might want to buy a few as it’s quite easy for a dog to chew through a toy if they play with it enough.

    If you want to get involved the play tug of war with your dog. But make sure you let him win now and again so he fells like he has the upper hand! If you have a garden the the age old classic, fetch, is perfect to mix in between a game of tug of war!

So there you have it. Now you have no excuse to not keep your dog fit and healthy. And to finish this off and add to this make sure you only feed your dog healthy and pet approved dog food.

The Fast Track to Weight Loss with Puppy Play Time!

Assuming you have no mobility issues the best way you could possibly think about dropping the pounds is by getting active with your dog.

Stop and think about it for just a moment. What does your beloved pooch love to do all day long? Nothing but have fun and play right? So why not combo the two together?

You do can get out and play while you start your new fitness routine also.

Start by walking. You’ll drop a few pounds very, very fast! The best way to start

is by going on walks two or three times a week. Don’t worry if you are unfit. It’s just a slow paces walk while your dog trots along beside you. It can really be this simple to drop the pounds. You always hear the stories of people dropping a lot of weight by walking so now it’s your turn to do the same and you are killing two birds with one stone doing this by as your dog will get exercise also.

If you don’t do this then what is your option? Well I suppose one option is to go to the gym but then how do you have time to get your dog the exercise it needs.

One option would be to hire a dog walker. For example you could get a company like dog walkers in Bristol to take on the job. This is just an example but from their site it costs £20 for a walk. If you add that up and get your dog walked three times per week it’s £60. Or £240 a month. That is quite a lot. But it depends on your schedule.

The best option is to just go and have fun yourself with your dog. It;s part of the family and you love the little guy right. Go play catch with him at least! This way you keep your dog fit and you start to get fit.

This way as you get fitter you can move into going for jogs with your pup. Your dog will love it once you start to jog along side him and then you can eventually move into actually running. And if you are felling ambitious you can move those runs into runs through the forest or woods that you might live next to as your dog will love the new area he will be exploring.

So to recap:

  1. Start with short walks and take your dog. Your dog will love it and you’ll start to get fit.
  2. As time goes by move into jogging with your dog.
  3. Once your drop the pounds and get fitting take you dog for a run and even explore new areas.
  4. If you don’t have time and you opt for the gym instead then hiring a dog walkers is a great idea.
